The Garden of Five Senses

sketch of garden of five senses

I looked within and

Found the Observer

Looking for the Experiencer.

The Receiver sat dejected

In a corner, pointing his

Finger at the Doer who

Looked clueless, but

Proud.

I thought I’d go deeper but,

The path would get steeper,

So steep I couldn’t keep up.

Distractions it said on

The fenced wall that

I jumped, and

Bruised my knees, over

And over, over and

Over again for years.

Another wall that came

My way said Biases,

Another said Preferences,

Another said Lovers, and

Another said Memories.

Scratched and

Battle weary, I

Gave up trying to

Jump walls to

Stop Ourselves from

Hurting Us,

Until one day the

Walls collapsed

On their own, and I

Could walk further.

The Garden of Five Senses

Was serene, perfect in

Harmony without a tug

In any way.

Immediately, I walked, not

In a hurry, but in a knowing

Manner to the Breathing

Valves Station and turned

Knobs to a frequency where

The Observer, Experiencer,

Doer and Receiver could

All be One.

I knew from all

The years of fighting that

This would be the

Place for me.

Deep in the woods I’ve

Built my home, a

Quiet wooden hut with

Glass windows by the

River. Every Morning I

Walk to the Breathing

Valves Station to start

My day with a cup of tea,

And fine-tune the frequency.
